When rains in Delhi and NCR, life becomes hectic, messy, road will get blocked by water and heavy traffic jams.
Almost quarter to half of the body of your two wheeler and four wheeler will get drowned in water.
From Wednesday, 09th September 2009 evening raining started till mid day of 11th September 2009, some times heavy rain and sometimes little rain.
You can see above the three [3] photos of Gurgaon bus stand full of water, old Gurgaon was filled by water everywhere; not only Gurgaon this was the condition of whole Delhi and NCR. My colleagues who comes from different parts of Delhi and NCR had similar experience of traffic jams, messy with water, painful and hectic travel.
All normal activities got disturbed and got freeze, so many could not able to reach office and returned back to Home.
Local transport is very worst in Gurgaon, there is no proper "City Bus Service", more number of Cycle Rikshaw, Auto Rikshaw, Mini Buses and Private buses are there and competition among themselves to gain their customer / travellers.
Due to heavy rain it is very difficulty for two wheeler to ride in midst of road full of water, messy and traffic jams.
One does not know whether manhole is opened as it is full of water, my two wheeler got switch off as water went inside plug and I was pushing it, next to me two persons sitting in bike went fast in that road full of water and their front wheel got inside the manhole and I was far to them and pushing my two wheeler manually, thank GOD ! people nearby there helped them to get out of it. I decided to push my vehicle manually in that road full of water till the roads are visible to eyes.
If one decides not to travel by his private vehicle due to rain and traffic jam and decides to reach office by local transporter then he had to take cycle rikshaw from home to bus / private vehicle stand - catch bus or auto rikshaw and reach linking destination and change another auto rikshaw to his office. An half an hour ride in your two wheeler will become almost two [2] hours of hectic / painful / messy journey.
I had a very hectic / painful / messy experience to reach office and back home by private transport, really I got exhausted and felt fatigue.
Oh ! again I felt "ಉರು ಉರು ಸುತ್ತ ಮೇಲೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಉರು ನಮಗೆ ಮೇಲು".

My experience in Delhi and NCR

My experience in DELHI and NCR.
People from south part of India see the long distance north part of India as a "HILL" which is very round ["ದೂರದ ಬೆಟ್ಟ ನುಣ್ಣಗೆ"] and reaches only to find lots of stones, weeds and uncertainty in their way.
Summer:-
Here weather, climate and environment is very extreme.
In summer day temperature will be between 45 degree to 50 degree where as night temperature will be between 34 degree to 38 degree.
You can see the Sun shining in the early morning 5 am to 7:45 pm.
Walls, chairs, all furniture and all equipments will be very hot, if you open the tap water coming from water tank will be very hot as coming from geyser.
If you are riding your two wheeler in traffic, traffic jam and hottest climate with lots of sweating and you will be wet with perspiration and if you are traveling in local transport then guess !!! it will be a hell.
You have to take bath when you reach home from office in the evening and you had to take bath before sleeping to avoid wet with perspiration.
You feel like drinking lots of cold water, cool drinks etc., but never feel hungry to eat, just like to drink and drink.
Winter:-
Winter here will be very coldest reaches between 1 degree to 6 degree in the night where as day temperature will be around 12 degree , but you can enjoy a lot by wearing lots of cloths from tip to bottom, you feel like you are in refrigerator and you can eat lots of chatpatta items, you can enjoy eating.
Day time will be very less as by between 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm it starts getting dark.
If you are riding two wheeler or driving your four wheeler early morning or late in the evening visibility will be very less, one has to be very cautious.
If you open tap water will be coming as you are taking from refrigerator.
Taking bath in the morning and getting ready by wearing lots of cloths from tip to bottom and reaching office will be an adventure.
Rainy Season:
There is no particular rainy season here like our south part of India, but when rains whole roads will be like river, traffic jam, lots of messy etc., very ridiculous.
Hidden cost:-
In Delhi and NCR lots of hidden cost is there:
Inverter is necessary as power cut is very more.
Air conditioner or Dessert water cooler is necessary in summer.
Heater is necessary in Winter.
For summer you need summer cloths.
For winter you need winter cloths.
Refrigerator is very essential.
Cost of living is very high.
In summer all fruits and vegetables price reaches top.
What ever you get extra payment by coming to North part of India will goes in those extra expenses and when ever you visit your home town once in a year in south part of India your savings will goes in traveling, shopping and other expenses and leaving you in Zero savings.
More over you are far from your parents, relatives and friends; leaving you in emotional stress also, here you get all stress like mental, emotional and economic stress, keeps you worrying how you got trapped in this place.
Other extremes: -
Traffic jam = If traffic jam happens you will be held for minimum 20 minutes and a maximum of 2 hours.
Riding and Driving sense = very horrible and nuisance.
Behavior of people = Depends on their mood, hot climate, traffic jam etc., = unpredictable and very rude.
One thing I realized after coming to Delhi and NCR is that our Karnataka and especially my home town Mysore is a "HEAVEN" our Karnataka people are so soft and humble.
You can be more happy by what you are getting in your native place rather getting more payment and spending same for hidden cost and coming to Zero savings.
"ಉರು ಉರು ಸುತ್ತ ಮೇಲೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಉರು ನಮಗೆ ಮೇಲು".
I hope this is enough to describe my experience in Delhi and NCR, right now I am in Gurgaon, Haryana State, earlier to this I was in Ghaziabad, UttarPradesh State and before it I was in New Delhi.
I am not telling I am having only extreme experiences, but as a whole and as a summary only these will come to mind.
